How or why would you fake a page rank?

    How on earth do you fake a page rank, and why on earth would you want to as everybody always checks dont they?

    The how I won't get into ... but the why is easy - some dishonest folks are out to make a few bucks from unsuspecting buyers.

    I bought a fake pr from godaddy auction - I burned myself
    Then, you can fake a domain by redirecting it to a pr domain

    its not that hard to check if has been faked, if you are buying a domain based on PR why not check!??

    Unfortunately such tricks have been used for the cases of buying and selling text links on websites.

    Although it is now quite clear that having a lower or higher PR might not be that different from the SEO perspective, but many folks are still in search of buying high PR links and sometimes they pay for some invaluable packs that are worthless.
