How One Woman’s Story Got Over 100,000 hits on eBay's Auction

You don't normally see this happen by someone that claims to not know much about ad copy but this woman hit pay dirt when she wrote a story about a harrowing trip with her six kids to the supermarket which resulted in her having to sell a ripped open box of Pokemon cards on eBay.

The result of the story netted her over 100,000 hits to her auction with 53 bids on the cards themselves.

She also put up her blog (although it wasn't hyper-linked). 25,000 hits in a single day to her website.

Simply unbelievable.

The moral to the story? A good story can drive sales beyond what a typical ad that you might see.

Easy...it was a story that literally every mom out there can relate to and it became viral. I really think that there is a lot that we can learn from this ad copy.
