And you are the true master of not denying "unsubstantiated accusations" It's amazing you'll accept payment for a DMOZ listing under the SEO flag but your moral compass wont let you lie

No I don't accept payment for listings.
No I was not on the grassy knoll.
No I am not nor have I ever been a member of the communist party.
I am not [insert unsubstantiated allegation]

It's not my fault you can resort to personal attacks time and time again but can't answer the simplest of questions. Though, thanks for that last answer I'll save for later when I actually have something nice to say about you.

    False.

    True.

Most likely true, crooks don't believe in what is good for society as ideology. :D

First, stop resubmitting, your request will go down the list with every new submission. Review your submission for mistakes/violating submission rules - and then; sorry I don't want to repeat 'cause I was insulted by a DMOZ editor for telling the truth, forget those f...; if they don't accept you on first intend. A listing there has still it's advantages but there are better ways to achieve better rankings nowadays! If you can afford it, a Yahoo directory listing has much more influence on your rankings than an OD link.

Regarding the resubmitting, if he submitted to a category and some editall came along and deleted it, is there are record of it? How exactly are multiple submissions recorded? Does it show up as multiple sites sitting in one or more categories or are they linked together with notes? How would a new active DMOZ editor know if a submitted site had been submitted multiple times?

And if it had, shouldn't he just look at the site on it's own merit and edit accordingly? Should he say "hmmm, excellent site, let me fix this typo in the description, list it....ooooops, this excellent site was submitted too many times, off to purgatory"?

I submitted 5 sites (3 were directories) between 9 months and 18 months ago. No reply, no customer service, no nothing. An Indian SEO firm once got a site in, possibly because he was an editor, for a short while.

Unfortunately I cannot help thinking its innefficient, possibly corrupt, and well past its sell by date. It appears to have major communications problems with its customers, but I might just have formed that opinion because nobody ever communicates anything after you submit. Its appears to be a secret club.

So I ask how do you get listed in DMOZ ?. Why does Google tarnish its reputation with it ?.

I would think twice about adding another directory to DMOZ. I would suspect that it was link farm 2.0 as many directories are. In your case if it is Newcastle specific, submit it to a regional catgegory that shows some signs of life (look at the last updated note at the bottom on category pages that you could consider for a Newcastle directory.

I have submitted that one to Newcastle with no result ?. It was newcastleupontynedirectory and is a pure local directory.

Yoursitelibrary.com was submitted to a higher global level.

I am not sure Newcastle had an editor.

    Thanks for your help.

It is actually quite interesting to see that many of these pay for inclusion directories are being now recognized for what the are. The ODP has coped a lot of flack from directory owners over the years for ODP policies which refuse to list directories unless they are serve a function to help the surfer rather than to manipulate search engine results.

Regarding the Newcastle directory it can be easier to get listed with a niche directory i than a general one. One of the questions an editor will ask is will this site add value to the end user/ If a category had say 20 links and you a submitted a directory with 30 relevant links with many of the links not being in the ODP then you are in with a chance.

I think i'm one of the only dmoz editors that allows links in. Too bad i only edit one section the Miami Dolphins....

For the most part the higher up editors just make you stay in one section. I tried to apply for another section but he said i did something wrong that another head editor told me to do.

but if you want a listing come to the dolphins section :D

nebuchadrezzar business is bad enough right now with everyone cutting the DMOZ listing prices and now you want to give free links, don't be surprised if you are removed. :D

Firstly pay your way into dmoz, then after some time you will be black mailed from an editor and thrown out if you dont pay.
Its sad for the heaps of good honest editors that so many editors accept money for listing.
