I got a new cable modem today. My old one I'd been using went kaput. It was around 3 years old. Either the recent storm got it or some water was spilled into the side of it. (I knocked over a glass of water near it 2 days ago ) What's the typical life span of cable modem without adding water or lightening strikes? forever? Hey, I'm kind of glad I got a new one because recently I converted from usb to ethernet prong, and the ethernet connection on modem was a little bit ......unsmoothe/loose and sometimes the ether cable would move a bit and unconnect me! The new modem's ether hole seems just right. Okay, this is just a general topic. Thought I'd share!!
