as long as you are bringing girls over and not down on the basement on the comp 24/7 I dont see anything wrong, but by 30 parents are getting old : /
I agree I think it's a bit wierd seeing a 30+ year old still living with there folks. At the same time, some cultures don't leave home until they have married, that's just the done thing.
I think... this scenario... is more culture based... and cannot be generalised I know some ppl who moved out, but some really prefer stayin there for the parents in their Old age helpin them in their Livings... Although, obviously they are married types and not gurlfriend types...
i personally feel that there is problem in staying with ur parents. atleast in india we have usually big families where u live with ur grand parents and parents
not all my arguements just the ones that come to mind first and that is exactly my point I am not really into supressing things Like in the case of your sisters boyfriend, what happens when he and your sister get into an argument, does his mom weight in? I really don't care how anyone else lives, it just seems so alien to me to want to live at home once you are grown up.
Once you get out of college and get your first job, you should move out. I moved out since 19. However, i think i need to move back as my parent are getting too out to work and they have no saving at all. I just can't support two household at the same time
in india, most parents live with their sons/daughters till death., And its an unwritten rule that parents should be taken care of till their death
That's Chinese rules too....however, all i can do is give them money and they take care themselve. Living with parent is the last thing i want to do..
Im 20 and i still live with my parents. Im at uni and this saved me a lot of money already. The second i finish uni, save enough money or get a stable income im out. When it comes to girls... hmmm... My parents did not mind my gf sleeping with me in the same room (I had to tell them there will be no sex) but we still did lol Pillow on the face acted as a silencer. -eidt- Only one of my mates (our age) has his own place. Without taking "on campus" students into account.
No, his mom doesn't weigh in Ferret. You might not see the point, but it's not necessarily someone's choice to live with their parents. Not many people can move out at 18 anymore. If it's more economical to stay at home while you're finishing school or whatnot, then I don't see the problem provided you are doing something to move your life forward.
I personally see in the United Kingdom people moving out as soon as they can, however within the nerd world the age seems be around 19-23. 30 is crazy, thats half your life with your parents, I would rather be dead!
yeah, it's impossible to live off a normal retail job, rent a place and have a life (forget the car) in the UK, or it was very hard for me anyway :/
Well I was going to get a job in Comet, of which I would of got £4 a hour as I am 16, so thus to move out I would barly be able to afford the house let alone food ect. It is the state of England and the rocketing house prices.
yep, been there, done that, first time I moved out I was 17, worked at Morrisons on the Deli counter (with the cool hats!), moved into a place with my best mate and couldn't afford anything might be partly because I was working part time at Morrisons and so was he! lol, good times
Living in the UK I have to say I'd find it quite embarrasing to tell people I still live with my parents if I was over 25, its the norm once finished uni here to buy/rent a place of your own (normally with friends) before moving to your own place once you have the lifestyle to support such a move. People are leaving home later here due to massive increases in house prices, young people just can't afford to get on the ladder.
Mortgage is a mission too. They wont give much to a young person. 4 times the annual income? Thats not even enough for a flat.
yeah I guess, I moved out when I was 17 and went to school, then I just got an apartment with like 5 - 7 idiots, it was pretty fun. But I lived in a small city where everything was pretty cheap.
