Yes, I do. Page title should be changed according to: i) Change in Search Engine Algorithms ii) Change in target keyword iii) Change in resourcefulness of site for keywords iv) Change in seasonal demands (if there is) and if new idea for title comes in mind
Only if I think a different title and keywords would help. Not very often, it usually changes alot for new sites but after they get established I've found my targeted title.
Thanks guys the reason im asking is because my page title seems to be doing well for me right now for some great keywords but I havent changed it in months - wasn't sure if that would get put against me after not changing the title for a long time (even though the site content is changed frequently)
If it ain't broke, don't fix it... Age of page title shouldn't be a concern. But of course, it depends on what kind of a site it is. Forums tend to have some great results using the topic title in the page title, as people often use some nice keywords when posting new topics. You mention that your title have been doing well. Does that include your subpages or just the main page? One way of helping things along, could be changing the title on the subpages to reflect it's contents.
Change the title in accordance with the dynamics of your market category. Over time searches change. Keep up with those changes.
Hardly ever do I change it. I keep it the same once I am ranking for the term I am targeting. I have found that a minor change to the title tag could cost positions in the SERPs.
I never change my page title. If it's for a new client, then yes, I'll change their NON-optimized page title to keywords they need to be targeting, but after that no. If another keyword starts to generate traffic, like a new toy or new word, then I'll just generate a whole new page dedicated to it, but not change the title of any of my already-optimized pages.
If the content in the page changes I will change my titles to a more "targeted" version, but, not that often really.
