Hi, I'm a blogger and I'm writing blog posts daily, which means I have to ping my blog daily. But I've heard that constant pinging can block my blog url and will be considered spam by the websites. I know some of the pinging websites: pingomatic, pingler, autopinger, pingmyblog, pinging, pingates, feed ping, ping that blog etc.. Can anyone please tell me how often should I ping my blog? Please tell me how many pinging websites we should use?
Well, i would suggest you to do pinging for your blog twice or thrice a month and not more than that. Secondly don't blast your website by pinging to 10,000 or 50,000 websites. Sarah
Everything I've ready generally says to ping any new posts and content - I dont know if you need much more than that.
Thanx! But Which Pinging websites are best for pinging? And how many of them should I use twice or thrice a month?
I second slmgroup, yes Ping too much is not healthy for a site, it is pointless to keep ping on same content.
if you are pinging your site every time you add NEW content is wont hurt you you just dont want to ping the same article or content more than once it will be considered spam.
I think whenever there is some new post or content added in the blog then its good to ping at the same time.
I used to ping it through pingomatic. Off late I discovered two more alternatives called pingfarm and bulkping. What differs these from pingomatic is that they are very fast and submit your ping to many more sites than pingomatic which results in faster indexing. So more link juice and faster indexing. Comparing pingfarm and bulkping, I find bulkping even better because firstly, it submits ping to more sites, secondly uses proxy IP's to look more natural to search engines, thirdly shows you a result whether your link was successfully pinged to the site or not, which other sites like pingomatic and pingfarm do no say. They simply say "ping sent" which is not an assurance that it was pinged successfully. In my opinion, use just one service and once a month that pings more sites in just one go. Frequent pinging of the same link will mark you spam, indeed as you said.
We've used ping-o-matic and it has given us good results. If you're worried about a backlash, don't ping everytime you submit a new piece of content. Instead, wait until you're finished and then ping it. We've done daily pings for years and it has never created a problem for us.
Great information Peon! But pinging is to let the search engines know that "Check out! New Content Here!", which means that everytime I make some new blog posts I have to ping. I didn't get it, pinging only once a month won't affect the search engines. Because everyday thousands of pings are sent to them, 30 thousand in one month, and I ping only once among 30 thousand? How will pinging get me traffic in this way? Thanx again
I wouldn't ping. Why? Well, if you are building links, then just let Google find them naturally. Obviously you should have your blog setup so that whenever you make a post it sends out a ping, but I definitely wouldn't go pinging any links that I build somewhere which point to my money site.
Can we use blog ping sites for articles submission URL? Actually, pings sites are mostly used for blogs.
