How often to email your email subscribers...

A couple of years ago I used to think that I shouldn't email my subscribers too much.

How wrong I was... although Im not talking every day, more like once a week. I remember when I gave it a test and to my surprise I would get a great return every week I emailed out.

Give it a try if you're not emailing out enough.

My forum has a "reminder" script installed that sends an email to members that have not logged in in over 30 days. After that first 30 day wait, the next email is sent out every 3 - 4 months.

This has helped to keep my activity levels pretty high.

Yea, once a week is good. Otherwise you'll be flooding their inbox.

Make them look forward to your e-Mails.

Definately agree... sorry to make myself clear; I just presumed that it was good quality information. Like it should be!

The first important thing is to establish expectations for your subscribers. Let them know how much they will hear from you and they will be ready for your messages when they come.

If you overdo it, even messages that people wanted to receive will turn into SPAM in their eyes. If you don't message enough, people will easily forget about you.

Once a week is a good standard if you are providing worthwhile, useful information. Once every two weeks or once per month can also be effective depending on what you provide, what people expect and how thorough your emails are.

You can always try segmenting your list into different groups, receiving different amounts of emails in each group. Compare the overall conversions and adapt whichever strategy worked the best.

yes, it depends on the content of the email, if you only sell one thing or service then its not good to keep reminding them about it every week, add something interesting, competitions, news and stuff and it will keep them interested

Too much is not good and too little will also be bad..
Just be moderate enough in to keep your subscribers be at your hands...

Once a week with QUALITY content....it's about building a relationship with your list...but not constantly bugging them.

We trying a follow up script on a couple of your Wordpress Multiuser installs. Sends out a couple of follow up emails to new users who sign up and create blogs. If we see results on it, we may copy it to other platforms.
