In the former company I worked for, we check the rankings of the sites we handle every single day. Is this a really good practice or is once a week fine? Aren't we becoming too obsessed with rankings by checking it everyday? Thanks!
I like to check daily, only because i have tons of sites to check & i check to see why and if there any big drops..
I'm getting ready to develop an application that checks keywords for you, completely automated like shawn's keyword checker, but completely automated woot
The thing with automated keyword checkers is that they are not 100% accurate so what happens is that we would check it manually, double work...
And what's not accurate about datacenter averaging and using an API? Can't get any more accurate than that imo. It's just what I'm going to develop, that's all.
Simple answer - Is the time you spend checking your ranking every day time that could be spent adding content to your site, building links, and actually improving your ranking? Only you can answer that
. OMGGGGGGG.....thats a hell ya... I think u need to use the Keyword Ranking tool at DP...Free and the best
Hey guys .. I have to ask you one interesting question. Recently I red an article on the google search results human interaction saying that when google lists websites on the search results page it is able to track the user and record its behavior -- if the user clicked on the first page and in really short interval to the second one then g can assume that the first one was not relative to that query and if the client spent more time on the second page then the second was more relative and then this behavior will result into the increasing of the ranking/position of the second web page. Using this kind of logic that I assume can be done, because technically its very easy to track the users from G's point of view with simple Java Script (I wrote such few years ago for banner advertising campaign with real link not redirected) and I'm not really sure if this has not been implemented already. Also the ranking checking programs list results but they don't click which will "possibly" penalize top ranking websites for "bad user behavior" assuming that the human factor did not liked what he/she sow and went to another page to find more relative results. Please comment on this.. I'm really interested what you think. What I stated above is from a SEO book that I red recently. Cheers, Venetsian.
U really should start a new thread with that M8 The short answer; Bollocks - BullCrap - I have had this conversation on numerous occasions. Considering G isn't using Cookies and even if they did, they can't track U once U leave. Second, they 'could' use toolbar data, but the tool is not pervasive enough across multiple markets to make the final data of any use, so that wouldn't work either. It's 'Tin foil hat' time - The Evil Google It's a nice idea, but breaks down technologically and theory wise on closer inspection. If this theory is corerct it would simply be another easy way to tank the competition... more Google Bowling/Bombing if you will. I could pay people to click favorably on my results and not on the competitors... to easy... We had a big discussion on this over at Web WorkShop a few weeks back
