i'm noticing the search engines are crawling my sites daily. ideally i should update daily but whipping up something good takes time. sometimes i'll take a weekend and whip up a bunch of articles and use joomla's scheduling feature to space out the articles 3 releases a week. this makes me curious, what should be the minimum number of articles posted per week to keep the search engines happy?
i post 2 a day (yes, its alot of work) but the se spiders come back once a day and have done so for the last 6 months. So this must be about right, although, maybe even 5 pieces a week, scheduled once every working day could also be fine.
I would do 1 per day, perhaps 5 days a week. So it keeps your frontpage changing daily with new information about your topic(s). This also makes your blog appear to be consistantly updated, which readers like so they can expect new information and come back to your site daily to read something new, instead of guessing when you'll be adding new info.
I would suggest a few times a week if you have the content, but also look at this from a user point of view - is it better to have alot of articles or a few real quality ones.
Yes, Of course, Blogs should be updated on a regular basis and promotion too. Because fresh content invites search engine crawlers and increases crawling rate.
The fact is that the more frequent the better. If you can spend time to do it several times a day, then why not? It's even better.
