You got canned and I still work there... but you have twice as many listings there as I do. LOL. Go figure.

If people only knew how much of the criticism is just hype.

Anyway, I'd apologize to somebody for derailing the discussion by pointing out the rather obvious affiliation of the person plugging his directory... except for the fact that the answer's already been said and the discussion appears to be over.

Don't raise your hopes too high. I have been waiting for a bit over a year. Still not listed...

Sure whatever Rob. Coming here and waving a flag that your still there and can cancel any listing by your terms is so UN EDITOR of you. Well even if your there do I look like I envy you ? As a matter of fact I pity you as you are still there. By the way in my directory however its hard to do this for me, I let it stay there because its a good directory just the editors are the problem of their arrogant behavior. No personal vendetta as that directory deserves to get listed.

I thought your just here for some posts and yet have overstayed. But really send me your paypal info if your selling for a fee. ;)

Gee, Jude, the sign on top of the forum says ODP/Dmoz... thought maybe there might be an occasional use for someone that actually knows what goes on there to speak occasionally, answer a question or two, maybe even point out inconsistencies in the frequent criticisms. Noticed recent shots at moderation... albeit sort of random looking, guess it a start.

That explains my presence, what exactly does yours bring to the table?

I know what the sign says, and just sticking to your OP that you stated/edited.
So since your here and could answer a few why is it there is a general directory listed in a regional category for a start.

Seems like an odd thread for the question, but ok. Regional categories often provide a second listing place for a site with an identifiable location that's also listed in the Topical side. Editors do have the discretion to do that. For an example compare:

    Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Designers/Full_Service/M

    with

    Regional/North_America/United_States/Maryland/Localities/O/Odenton/Business_and_Economy/Computers_and_Internet

Of course if you see a listing that is odd and suspect foul play by all means feel free to report it to the URL for abuse. http://report-abuse.dmoz.org/

This isn't a sneaky method of getting me to explain to you how to set up your directories is it? ;)

Very nice Rob. Good for you to teach and remind but for that listing in Regional that is a web directory that slipped in. Listings are not that many and poor. But it slipped in. It's an SEO company owned directory just to let you know. ;)

The one in red in my post is an SEO owned company too. Are you suggesting it isn't OK to be there?

Can't have it both ways. Your SEO owned company has a Regional listing, why do you think someone else's like it "slipped in" ?

Like I said if it does not fit in there do what's needed as you almighty declared yourself already as the NUKER. So its your call. But its the usual TWISTING of FACTS from DMOZ Editors as I asked a legit question.

Give me a straight answer as to how much power you have that you can guarantee a listing to stay there in REGIONAL if I let you know the URL and list sites SIMILAR in content or more. I will make a deal since it got listed in Regional and you can list mine and some others too in Regional for our directory. How about that ? But if you can't lets just forget it.

So how many you have nuked so far. Is this just to make you look good or is this to let us know that you are ready to do a clean up with or without consent of your bosses.

ROFL. Barkin' up the wrong tree there junior... in 8+ years there I have roughly 60-70 deletes total (counting things I deleted from my bookmarks)... and that's having done enough edits to make editall. Pretty clear I haven't tried to build the directory with the delete key.

There are no "twisted" facts... you're just criticizing a site that is listed in Regional that got there under the same criteria that allowed yours there.

As for you providing me yours to list... that's really sweet but you know where the submissions screen is. I never offered to circumvent the process or play SEO for you... but thanks. :) LOL.
