If your site has a feed (Wordpress or blogger blogs have one built in; otherwise you can create your own for a regular html site) you can subscribe to your OWN rss feed at Google, Msn, and Yahoo. This will usually get your site indexed within 24 hours at most. From there you just need to build backlinks and keep getting traffic through the usual methods. Don't worry too much about submitting your site to Google, it's not really necessary. Dan
If that is the case, why then is there a submit URL page for Google? Aside from that, I have still found sites that are not listed that appear a day or less after submitting the URL to their Submit URL form.
What do you mean "if that is the case" - it's a quote from google webmaster tools help; the verbatim quote and the link to the source. So clearly it is the case.
Submit only ONCE! If you submit too many times, it's a surefire way to get your sites removed from search engines.
I've never submitted a page to google...heh, I didn't know there was a link to do so. ALL of my pages have been indexed within a week.
I use the theory that for the major search engines submit once. The smaller search engines will pick you up as the major spiders crawl your site. Concentrate on forums, blogs and linking. Google analytics is an invaluable tool for working on your site and getting it ranked sooner than later.
I'm still new at this game myself, but I do know that there is a lot of dated information still out there. A while back, you used to have to submit your site every 3 months or so. You can literally waste hours submitting to sites when they are going to crawl you anyways. Good luck!
Hi,I have started a wordpress blog and I am new to this website related stuffs. Can anyone tell me how to build backlinks?
List in directories, particularly related categories and or niche' directories. That's a good place to start.
Submit to directories, social bookmarking, commenting on other blogs are ways to get the search engine spiders to find your site/blog and build backlinks.
I have never submitted my site to search engines. All it takes is to do a blog comment on another blog and search engines will find your site soon enough.
i agreed, submitting your site to a site that has been indexed by google or other se's is the best way .
You don't have to submit your site to search engines...build quality backlinks and the search engines would find you automatically
once is just enough. I never submitted my site on search engines but it just find my site because it has a lot of back links.
Man am I confused...after reading through the help files in Googles webmaster tools, I was under the impression that you should resubmit your map after you update your site. In my case, I hope to add an article daily and between the content and the links-I change 3 pages each time. Should I just sit back and let the engines take care of things on their own also? I have verified my site and submitted it already.
Its certainly not going to hurt you to resubmit them, so I fail to see how it does not help. If that makes sense.
