I have a website that really never warrants changing the content. Should I make it a point to change a few words on each page and how often should I do this? Does it help me with the SE's? Thanks in advance.
we try to advice people to add new content at least once a month, this gives the search engines more reason to come back to your site.
The more you update the site the better, but you need to be consistent. Try adding a news/article feature that updates daily.
I have a news feed that adds daily articles within a frame but does this really show as updated content to google? I just pulls the rss feed from another website so my actual source code never changes. Does anyone know the answer to this? Thanks.
As people have been saying its about updating your content. Adding new content will benefit your site in terms of how its viewed by the Search Engines. I wouldn't suggest changing a few words here and there, but instead optimise your content and continually add relevant content that is optimised and you should benefit to a much greater extent than you are currently.
If you update i mean posting new content on a reglular basis then search engine will crawl your site quite often, The more you update the more it gets crawled
can i just enquire as to why our site "really never warrants changing the content"?? the answer is - update as often as possible. i run an ecommerce clothing shop and i've noticed that when we get a load of new stock in, it benefits us to drip feed the new content - uploading 5 products a day for 5 days rather than 25 in 1 day.
You update a page when it's needed. But, I would recommend that you update the home page once a week to keep the Google Index Cycle in that range. Sometime in the future, you will need to get the site indexed quickly, and you will not be in the "weekly cycle" range.
