How often does your site become number one on google?

Does anyone know how often you get to see your site on google? One day I'll be on the first page and then not.

 

it happens to me every once in a while. I don't understand google sometimes

 

One big thing is that it depends on how unique your site is with regards to your keywords and how relevant your site is to that keyword term.
Remember google searches pages not sites so make sure that each of your pages is specific to the phrase you are typing to see if you appear.
If you have a business another trick was to add it to google maps and then verify the listing.

I work with an extremely competitive niche with 100's of millions of competing sites and have often seen my site jump to the first page one day and then be gone the next. But, eventually I started vanishing less and less and now have some solid SERPs with more moving upwards on a regular basis.

Good backlinks will help you to hold these positions. It does not have to be a lot of backlinks but good backlinks from reputable, established sites in your niche. I have found 1 good link can be better than 1,000 lesser links.

 

Serps keep changing, if you keep updating content, you will find it's easier to be on top.

 

I think Google is just one big mystery and will never be solved..constantly changing!

But for real, you can never know for sure there are way to many variables to be calculated in.

 

I have the same feeling, my websites stays in first page for serveral month then sent to Sandbox, is there anyone can tell me why and how?

 

SERP always fluctuate.
Try to get more and more backlinks with that keyword and it'll be a stable one for you.

 

Haven't had any of my sites rank number on on google yet, hope to one day though

 

I think I get it once in a blue moon. I'll see my traffic spike and I'll break out the beer and party. But then the next day or half a day later, it drops to its normal spot.

 

Happens to the site on my sig every day. It will be #1 on many amazing keywords. On occasion it will drop to second page but then come back later.

 

Google SERP's is very much hope for the best, prepare for the worst. I look once a day and can be anywhere amongst the first 5 pages.

 

My sites jump around in SERPs for up to a year normally then they settle down. For those with really good SERPS I usually battle with one or two other sites for the #1 spot. We cycle between #1, #2 and #3 over a 2 or 3 week period.

 

On most of my sites half year old i get to the first page on desired keyword

 

They dont want anyone to catch on to their system or it will be abused

 

Google's SERP's are constantly changing. Recently certian terms were page 1, then 3, then back again, yet if you search G for "google backlinks" without the quotes, one of my pages is constantly #1, and I haven't updated it in a very long time. There are just so many factors with G.
