how often does google normally crawl

ive submitted a sitemap and ive been waiting for google to index my new seo url's.

my dynamic url's are now losing ranking and I am not getting as much traffic now


Is there any idea on when it will crawl my site again?

 

?? or does anyone know how to ping google to tell it that your sitemap has been updated and needs crawling?

 

There is no way to ping google, you can just resubmit your sitemap and then wait while google crawls your site Chris.

 

Also since you have just switched over to all new URLS it may be a good idea to redirect the old URLS to the new ones.

Either way you have just drastically changed the structure of your site so it may take Google a few weeks to catch up depending upon how often Google crawls your site.

 

The mod for the script automatically redirects the old url's.

See what has happened is google indexed both my image (as its also a .html file) and product.

google reduced the rank of the product page and left the image in 1st place about 1 week after I changed to seo url's. the product page is still indexed but is too far from #1 it gets no traffic.

I have added tons of anchor text;s with my new SEO url so hopefully google does 1 big index soon

 

Ive changed back to dynamic url's I just read some things about the mod and that it has many bugs some to do with how google sees the site ect. so I have removed them and will wait till a final release is released. Hopefully I can get my rankings back

I will try again another time or when I convert to the OSC script as it seems to have alot more mod support and already has a SEO URL mod.

Reason I did that was for some reason google was indexing the categories with seo url's but no product url's even with a sitemap submitted for 3+ weeks and with tons of backlinks with a anchor text it just would not index. So ive put it down to a problem with the SEO MOD. I will see what happens in a months time and see if im back up on #1.

 

Google, generally crawls my site, every 30 mins. I have around 500+ backlinks from PR 4+ sites! Not to mention one PR10, but sadly it just drooped down to PR 9 in the last Toolbar update!

You mentioned something our new seo urls. Did you redirect the old url traffic to new url/site? otherwise they may think of duplicate content and reduce the ranking?

I changed the extensions to .html and within 3 days I can see products showing up. already getting some of my traffic back im only 4th in google thou #1 gets all the traffic.
