How often does google index pages?

Hey please tell me after an update to my site, do i have to manually submit my site to google? or does it index automatically and after how long? If i submit my site after each regular update (suppose every day) will it be considered as spam?

 

depends on your backlinks and also if you have submitted your website google will check it, every hour

 

Yeah my site is been submitted to google, but i dont find my latest posts getting indexed hourly, rather its weekly! When i used blogger it used to be hourly but now.... afters i bought a domain name for my blogger blog its not been indexed regularly

My site pages are indexed in less than a minute everytime I post an article.

Anyways I agree, that you need backlinks either from articles or anywhere else

 

Some times it also depends upon your one of meta tags...

 

im using blogger blog, even mine were getting indexed very fast when i used free yourname.blogspot.com domain, but every thing changed when i switched to paid domain

 

Quite true - submit your link to Digg, google will pick it up quick if it's a new domain.

there is a setting in wordpress plugin "google sitemap" where you can choose how often should google index your pages.

 

I think they are indexing 24/7. But the Internet is such a big place, it may take Google a little while to index your site.
