How often does google download your sitemap?

    I've noticed that Google downloads the sitemap for my PR3 site around once every 4-5 days. Anyone get better results?

    Usually mine gets downloaded every 24 hours...what I do is add a link to my HTML, XML, ROR, and URLLIST sitemaps at the bottom of every page like this. I also include a link to my newest pages so the SE's will index the new pages faster.

    It used to take a week for them to update the sitemaps, and indexing new pages took a couple of weeks, but now the pages are getting added in 36 hours. :)

    i m using ping google utility in my web directory it pings google and then google downloads site map as i generate new one!

    google is getting my sitemap daily.

    it's related with the power of your backlinks. more backinks means more googlebot visit:)

    Mine is downloaded every time I say resubmit in the webmasters tools. So I guess when ever I need to really.
