What kind of angle do you use? Drama, tools, resource, critiques, etc? From my experience, we've notice that drama works real well when targetting general consumers.
Last I used was a personal attack against someone that people didnt like anyways. Turned out ok and got quite a bit of good links from it.
Yep. Usually works like a charm in forums and some marketing blogs. However, posting "overthrow" or "paradigm shift" type blog entries/posts can sometimes backfire. I've seen it both ways. It depends on how it's played and if the analysis generally makes sense and can appeal to the reader.
