How often do you get chargebacks when selling online? If you are willing this information please also share the payment processor that you are using and the type of products/services you are selling (example: ebooks, shoes, etc.). I am interested in this information because I am working on a tool which could help sellers minimize fraud. The service is not yet ready so I am gathering feedback in order to take into consideration every aspect. I haven't received any chargebacks last year but many of my partners did. I am using PayPal & Payza at the moment.
For me it has increased, as my online presence. So far I have lost 300 dollars that were rightfully mine because, of paypal.
We don't have many problems with PayPal. 2CO was just crazy - almost 50% of transactions through them passed their fraud check but were indeed fraud. We use Maxmind and manual verification which appear to work pretty well.
^^^ Maxmind is awesome, I use that for many of my clients. We use a few others as well time to time but depending on the type of business, there are tons of solutions readily available to help merchants fight fraud and prevent chargebacks altogether. I work with over 100 clients that operate in several mid/high risk industries and found great success with our solutions. You just have to find the right fit for your line of business.
We had a lot of fraudulent transactions last year close to 25-100 per month. We lost nearly all of them. We were working with TSYS and never received any assistance from them at all. Sadly we were stuck with the fees that were associated with it. The only thing that we found helped was to block countries from accessing our payment page but still some Proxies let them get around that.
I will prefer you to use that merchant which does not allow charge back. You can use maxmind for stop fraudent.
