How often are google keyword positions updated? I have just done some big content and design updates. The old content was not ranked in top 100 for any keywords, hoping the new site will. The PR of the site also dropped from 2 to 0, I guess this will just update on the next PR update, right?
10.000.000.000 times a day!!! Let me explain: Google crawls the web like every 15 minutes or so. Each time they crwal, they add new pages which contain thousands if not millions of keywords to their index. As these sites are added, the rankings for the keywords included in the newly indexed or updated pages change automatically too. That is why renounced pages will always rank higher than you when they write a story containing your keyword.
Rank positions change all the time but it takes google longer to update their descriptions and titles which can have an effect on your positions
Google is constantly crawling. I would use their webmaster tools and see when they last crawled your site. Sometimes, if it is a major update it is worthwhile resubmitting your site map.
If for example the site address changed from www.sccssurvey.co.uk to www.sccssurvey.co.uk/s/home and the same for internal pages, would that affect anything?
Google updates its keyword ranking all of the time, all day long. That way if there is an important news story posted, people will have access to it within minutes.
