Is there a setting or something that prevents me from receiving PMs that are nothing but spam?

    hey there,
it's true that is hard to avoid spam nowadays...

    my suggestion are:
Dont try to unsubscribe your email from the email you received... it will only get worse... because the advertiser know that this email user is an active email...

trust me they will try even harder next time...

My solution is to not read PM's that have any kind of number or typo in the title, problem solved ;)

Great idea. Thanks for telling me how to do this - It should cut down on pm spam if we all start doing this. :)

In my personal e-mail the only spam I get is some Oprah crap and the Nigerian Scammers.

I have quite a few other e-mails set up for signing up to people's lists and receiving their spam. Don't use your main e-mail to sign up to anything.

As for receiving PMs on a forum: No, there's nothing to my knowledge you can do about that, just delete it when you see it and report it.

Just ignore it. Can't really get rid of them. Even in emails they proliferate. I guess we just have to live with them, eh?

I always just check and delete my spam folder at least 2 times per day. I hate spam too. I really don't know how you can really get around it though... I have a yahoo account that I did not keep up with for a while and I checked it one day and it had about 3000 spam emails..

Yep mark them as spam. who loves spams anyway? If I were you, open an account that is for public use, so that all spams will go there. I myself, have a personal email and a public one.

Delete them. There's no way you can prevent them from spamming your inbox. I got loads every day and I simple delete them all.

Tell the moderators about the spam, whey will check and if the person is spamming they will be banned the only way to stop spammers is to get them banned. Just make sure to place the username of the person spamming.
