As i am very interested in buying text links nowadays to improve my web page seo i really come across with these cheaters very much. So i want to share some of my experiences that can help to stay away from them 1. They try to sell links with fake pr's (the basic method, probably all of you take care about it) you can check if the pr is valid from here http://www.seologs.com/pr-check/pagerank.html but this still will not guarrantee that its the real page rank 2. They will sell you links from sites that they hacked. You must be very careful while buying a link. CASE: hacked url this man sent a post that he sells a pr4 link that is indexed by all major directories yahoo/dmoz and etc. just 40$ for 6 months and 1 year for 60$. he will not give the url in the post but will send you the info with PM. How you can understand that theres a lie: a. he does not sell for short term but min for 6 months b. why so cheap c. investigate - the best way is to check whois http://www.whois.sc/ is there a very close change at IP History: and Registrar History: and also you MUST check the link history from www.archive.org is there a close change at layout and content? now this copyrighted name and site is at Original url and probably the hacked site will be at its real owner in a very short time. 3. Never buy links from pages pr6 or above there will be a fake 90%. A pr6 site owner must not be in need of selling links from his homepage. 4. Never buy links that are PERMANENT - who can say that i will be living tomorrow? theres nothing permanent. There will be a fake 80%. -- and a deep note, try to keep away from sitewide footer links. always check for site:url and link:url from google Hope this topic will be helpfull for someone if you have additional ideas please share here good luck
Good TIPS. And for clarify: when checking the IP History, recent changes can suggest that is a recent dropped domain. That TIP is on first post (2.c).
I agree with this. exception blogposts or directory listings. All your sayings are 100% correct. Thanks.
http://www.seologs.com/pr-check/pagerank.html The tool doew not show correct results. I just checked the site PR of www.seologs.com which was PR 3 and the tool is showing PR 5. can you please check what the problem is. Regards
I disagree with some of the things you stated. e.g. "permanent" links just means they'll be there for a while - nothing is permanent of course, I think as long as you don't mistakenly have the assumption it truly will be permanent and will give yourself a stroke then you're fine. >>A pr6 site owner must not be in need of selling links from his homepage.<< What? Also, regarding fake PR however I think you're right.. check backlinks on Yahoo and Google and see that a site truly does have good backlinks that give it's PR.
Even if you are dealing with a reputable trader, you still want to do your homework as the broker or person you are dealing with might not know of a problem e.g. nofollow links or some other problem. Eric
