How Not To Ask For A Link

I thought this was pretty amazing. Another webmaster emailed me requesting that I link back to his site, because he had already linked to my site already. So I checked it out and his entire site is made up of RSS feeds from other sites, including my own site! There was not original content or pagerank on any pages! Then as a final proof that he did not know what he was doing, none of his urls were search engine friendly.

Seriously how does he expect a website to link to him?

He probably expects some of the people to be clueless.

I hit the delete button before I'm done reading the first sentence.

If they can't take the time to write a friendly and personal email, they should screw off. And if they were using my content to beef up their own site, they can screw off even more while they remove it.

Actually, I don't do link exchanges anyway, but I've still managed to get some PR.
