    Thanks everybody

Then I recommend trying different ways to monetize your site (can you sell ebooks? affiliates? links? ads? direct ads? consulting? physical products? etc.). After all, it's not just the quantity but quality of traffic that matters...

(Received via private message but I rather reply here).

I'd like to say "come back again after your site is 400 days old", because basically: it takes time to build sites. I would rather think how you want your site to be when it's "4000 days old" - and forget "how to get traffic as quickly as possible".

Nevertheless, I mentioned earlier that I cannot remember when I reached the 14,000 mark but my guess was "within 6 months".

Adsense and Stumbleupon are fine. Stumbleupon is merely website from where other people may come to your site, no problem with that.

    Because of three things:
    - I've read and watched every (Agatha Chriestie's) Hercule Poirot book/movie there is
    - You said "but my earning is so low....." which might suggest that the traffic might not be targeted enough
    - I draw (too) fast conclusions

Eh, seriously: sorry if I offended, didn't mean to - and perhaps I should have re-phrased my sentence differently. I merely thought that because you said your earnings are low I thought perhaps there's something you haven't tried yet - or that the traffic is not targeted enough.

I reserve the right to be completely wrong :) - and in reality don't have a clue about the quality of your visitors. Just drawing (too) fast conclusions ;)

no, I think my visitors are targeted enough. The reason why it is so low because I used adsense and the ads are not relevant. I used competitive ads filter but the new ads which is irrelevant are keep showing. And the most pathetic thing is the relevant ads can only give me around $0.02-$0.05 per click! Yeah, you're right. I should use affiliate. I am working on this, btw.

Glad you liked the tips, hopefully you enjoyed the part 2 as well.

I have a faint memory that it was 37 uniques the first month... basically whatever the number - it sure was way too small in the beginning :)

Thanks - how about combining this notes with knowledge you already have, and bring it here? ;)

    Lol.

    You're welcome.

Thanks - I'm glad you found it useful.

    ---

Small update: at the moment my site is running close to 35K, but the number of pageviews have increased (after putting the forums online). It was probably because of TLA links, that my site pagerank has been affected.

Oh, and this is my 888th post :D

I read your Blog entry on the John Chow Site - The second part where you talk about social bookmarking. I tried to place a comment but the shop was closed already :)
So i try to send you the message this way.

"About the Bookmarking. You're right, it does bring traffic.
I suggest though that you change your button again :).
addtoany.com/buttons/ would be your best choice I think. It's only the size of a simple button but on mouse over it shows a selection box with most of the relevant social bookmarking sites. So, one button for all bookmarks instead of running after one trend at the time seems the better idea."

And thanks for the rest of the article. Inspiering.....
