video on how some americans react to a prejudice setup. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=324_1209350353&c=1#comments thoughts? I love how the people stood up for her and how they understand how wrong it is, but its also sad to see the amount of people who agreed with the clerk. I have a feeling Gtech and all the gun tooting pro war people would of acted the same way as the first guys in the video. which is sad to say the least.
Gun toting is fine. The 2nd Amendment keeps the population from being disarmed by their government, and provides a check on government tyranny. Pro war, well that's just irrational. Who in their right mind wants to be pro-murder, pro-wealth destruction, anti-peace?
I am Hindu. After the twin tower attacks, I have seen that Muslims and Hindus world over are being treated like terrorists. These terrorists have misunderstood their religion and thus are busy killing everyone.
Hindus? Examples? I have a lot of Sikh friends, and know they have dealt with it (mostly because people are truly stupid, sometimes, and can't distinguish the Sikh turban from a Muslim one, before leaping to base prejudice), just haven't known of any anti-Hindu general prejudice over "terrorism."
I don't know about hindus v. muslims, but maybe so. Regarding Sikhs, Well, hell, forgot we both live in a certain U.S. city. My friends deal with it all the time, particularly when walking along Devon. I've gone to the movies (the guy loves films as bloody as it gets - always trippy, to me, given his Sikhism - but part of his colorful fabric), seen it there. Out to eat, wherever. Sad.
Well it is the same. As far as my experience goes, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Jains, are all Middle-Easterners. Indians, Pakistanis, etc are also Middle-Easterners. We don't belong to Asia. Come on, we'd like to be called Asians. We are not terrorists.
Rsikanth05 - I hope I haven't given the wrong impression. I don't consider Muslims, Sikhs, or Hindus, as a group, "terrorists." Not in the least. I was simply saying I wasn't aware of a general prejudice against Hindus along these lines, but I honestly don't know since I only have my (very limited) experience, largely stemming from my companionship with some members of the Sikh community (who themselves mix with Hindu friends in my city). My wife, for one, had a Hindu guru who profoundly influenced her life, so I am not completely in the dark. Namaste.
What I meant was that there are many ignorant guys out there who have such wierd beliefs. I left a forum once for the simple reason, I used to get messages from users calling me an Asian terrorist, or a jehadi, or a middle-eastern bandit.
India is not middle-eastern, it is south asian. Pakistanis aren't middle-eastern either, but I am not sure what that area would be considered as.
Sure, there are some racist idiot vigilantes, there are also a lot of people who just don't care. My first boss out of college was from Afghanistan and the only problem I had was how often he got a new Porsche! I want a Porsche too! AHHHH
