I just hired four full-time writers, one full-time editor, and a full-time QC person through Grayscale Services -- mostly because it's difficult to find quality writers on DP.

I've stepped out of the role of reviewing assignments and sending new ones, but if you're not getting assignments quickly enough, please PM me.. techlady and I have a process, but not a perfect process.

PI articles... ack... I dropped the ball on that one. I'll take that topic up a few paragraphs down.

Unions, paradoxically, tend to protect poor performers and punish good performers.

The other problem is that it is hellishly difficult to define standard guidelines for writing. Writing is a complex human activity. It's difficult to say what is "good" or "bad" in a general sense on any level above simple spelling and grammar.

That depends upon the value which your writing is creating for the customer.

In some markets, the marginal utility of a written word is less than 5 cents.

You are right though, it's not one big market -- it's an amalgamation of smaller markets.

    This is very true.

As a buyer, I absolutely love to run into writers who really know their niches.

shkad14, my PI site is currently penalized to the point where RoI is close to zero, but... if I invested in some quality content based around the right keywords... Google might agree to lower or drop the penalty on that site.

For that kind of value add, you should charge me more. Let's IM or PM and make something happen here.

Instead, why not raise rates for your existing customers? They know the quality of your work, so they should be willing to pay more.

Plus, it's easier for them to pay you more than it is for them to invest time and risk by going to find new writers to replace you.

The content creation forum, but you need to have 25 posts and be a member for 14 days before posting. I also suggest going to the main Buy/Sell/Trade forum and reading through the sticky threads there, so when you do get to post ads, you don't find yourself in trouble (we've been issuing one-week bans now for certain violations found in the announcement there, so pay particular attention to that).

They do, but they're also subject to infractions, so don't advertise your article writing services there. They belong in content creation. Content is solely for things that have been already created (like an existing PLR content set).

As a matter of fact, Jenn has updated the sticky thread at the top of this forum so common questions about posting here are covered now ;)

I agree on here there are people who can live on $40 a month it is just crazy to try to compete with that if it take you 30 times a much to live.

I don’t know about writing but in the graphics and web design here on DP there are people who will work for $10 a day… pfff my rent is $800 a month for a 1 bedroom apartment there is no way I could do jobs like that.

I can tell that some of you guys on this tread are real writers, I been reading some stuff on DP where people have like 12 post and each is like one sentence long and they are trying to get writing jobs..
like someone’s a writer but they can barley make 12 half assed posts.. gheese some people. lol
