How much would you pay to have SEO done WELL

Ok, so theres hundreds and hundreds of companies out there, either charging uber value SEO because they outsource the lot to India, selling it for $10/hr
And then theres the individual SEO consultants charging $150/hr for 100 hours a month.
Theres such a massive fluctuation in prices it seems nobody knows where anyone stands anymore.

Im just curious what you personally would be willing to pay to have your website worked on professionally. I know its going to be relative to the amount of revenue a change in the rankings would make, but for you. How much would you outlay?
    Everyone has a price :p

I charge 50-75$ an hr for SEO work and have ppl lined up for weeks.
It's better to do a little research and just do it yourself.

No, why pay If you can do it on your own. Anyone can study and learn SEO.
SEO just needs time and effort.

Not every webmaster has the time, or computer savvy become anything like as proficient as someone who has years of experience.

    Tom,

I think it depends on the services your require (site audit, link building, etc..). There are several different models of pricing, but if you're looking for a flat hourly rate, then I think anywhere between $50-$500/hr depending on the SEO's experience.

I usually charge $50/hour plus any extra costs (link building, etc..) I have seen others charge way more and I really don't understand how they get away with it. More power to them I guess.

I agree. Some SEO charges their client depending on how competitive the keyword is, and depending also on the position of the keywords and how many months for him/her to put your site on SERP.

I don't like charging for SEO by the hour simply because it's the internet, customers can't really verify you done 13 hours work and just have to believe what you say and pay.

Also if the SEO isn't efficent, it may take them twice as long to perform tasks so i don't feel the client should foot the bill for something that could of been done alot quicker.

I've had some poor experiences with services charged by an hourly rate, where they have billed 15 hours and i know myself it would of taken 3 at the most if i done it myself. So i'm not a big fan of an hourly pricing model for SEO.
