    Hey guys,

I think this is the right section.. I couldn't find anything better.

So my question is how much would you pay for a script such as this one: (fyi: i'm not selling it right now, it's a question.)

    Demo: http://geekhelps.net/shorturl/index.php
Feel free to sign up, add links and test it ;). It has more options than most short urls, as you can see. You can set up IPs that can see it, password set it or even make the link expire after X times. It also has a password resetter if you've lost it and etc.. I can't think of much more than this.

The only thing it lacks at the moment is an admin control panel, which I can easily make in a few days if I really want to get it done fast and then it would require a few testing and messing around :p..

Thanks a lot for telling me!

I think you can offer it for more than that if you develop an admin area for the settings and some stats, a theme engine (although it looks good now) and a way for your customer to monitize it (like adding ad scripts). I also think if you develop it as a plugin for a popular CMS like WordPress, Drupal or Joomla you might get customers who want to add this feature to an established site.

Personally I probably wouldn't pay for it because as already said there is free versions kicking about, and all else fails I wouldn't take me long to reproduce.

That doesn't mean other won't pay though.

You need to add error tracking and an administration area is a must. These kind of scripts are everywhere so it probably wasn't the best idea trying to do it again. Your script must have something the free ones don't which makes people want to pay money. The idea that someone said making it into a WP plugin or something like that would be a good angle.
