I have a team of 3 to 4 SEO guys, not much of them. Anyway, i would like to open a SEO company for those who require SEO assistance. I am just wondering how much you would pay for SEO. I'm not talking about those SEO that "we-make-website-changes". I'm more of talking a guidance to SEO. You pay a simple fee, one of the seo guys review your website and give you all the possible ways to SEO your site, maybe a list of keywords aswell. How much would you pay for something like this? SEO Consulting...
Personally I wouldn't pay anything. I don't know of anything that these guys could tell me that I couldn't find by visiting webmaster forums. Brandon
I'm with him. But, in all honesty it depends on the qualifications of the person giving the advice. I'd be willing to pay for SEO advice from the right people, since no matter who you are theirs always someone that knows more than you. But, convincing me of that is a whole nother issue
I agree. For me has SEO advice no value (unless the SEO consultant is engineer from google ). The only value for me can be saved time -- so if some consultant will make some changes on my website (e.g. improving on-page factors) his job saves me some time (=$$$) because I can do something else.
I think you're asking the wrong question on this forum. Maybe you should ask the people here, "what have you charged others for these services?" The people who visit here aren't likely to pay for SEO b/c they've already shown the initiative to join, read, and learn. Your market is those that don't have that initiative (or more likely, time). And after all that, I have no idea what you should charge. Good Luck!
Selling SEO consulting to SEO's is hard, so I would ignore most of the comments made in this thread. Sorry guys. The price of something depends upon what someone is willing to pay for it. To set prices for your services, you must define the value that your client will receive from your services. Then, you charge your client a portion of that value. I don't know the SEO industry very well. I am a consultant in a couple of related areas and my rates vary between $150 and $250/hr, plus expenses. I have no trouble finding work. Think about your target client. How much will they benefit from your services? Put a number on it. Now, document that number to be able to prove that value to your prospective customers. Set your rates to equal about 60% of that number. If your proof is good, prospective clients will see the value and give you their business. If your proof isn't so good, go with a number lower than 60%.
In order to sell SEO Consulting you need a branded name. For instance Jill Whalen has branded her name very well and gets paid for consulting because its a name that you can trust.
So, who IS Jill Whallen??? Sorry, but I read most of the post here, but I must have missed all the data posted about her and elsewhere.
Jill Whallen is known as the SEO bitch. What she knows or does not know is debatable. It depeds on whom you ask. Shannon
LoL, why are you guys picking on Jill. Such an irony there, though, someone saying she's branded herself so well but can't get her name right. Anyone not knowing about her can find out who she is at her site www.highrankings.com
Back to the subject. If I were to do something like this then I would offer a free phone consultation first. Give them some tips/advice then see if they want to take it to the next step.
Should Google Bomb 'SEO Bitch' => http://www.highrankings.com/ Anyway, I'd guess you could charge $29.95-$49.95 for average website SEO advice. I have no idea how much they charge, although that's how much I'd be prepared to pay. For SEO with results, I'd pay alot more.
Good point. I'm targeting the general webmasters. Non of the SEO Experts or nothing. Just webmasters who own a general website (let's say health site).
I refuse to pay for SEO. I consider myself to be a skilled webmaster who will single handedly probably get two sites to a PR6 and a bunch of PR5s at the next Google update. It is a matter of having discipline and not being lazy. Anyone who is dedicated and has time can sit down and teach themselves SEO. Relying on a firm is easy but expensive. If you have a bunch of money sitting around I guess its ok. But if you're cheap like me then teaching yourself is the key.
