How Much Would You Pay For Manual Directory Submissions?

Ok I have posted this thread to gather a bit of input from you guys. I am wondering how much you would pay to have your website manually submitted to 500 SEO friendly directories.

All of the directories would meet the following conditions:
-Homepage pagerank of 4 or higher.
    -SEO friendly
    -Quality clean sites
    -No directories containing adult links

Just looking for some input, and if you guys or gals have any suggestions I am happy to hear them!

I think it would be a great service. Suggestions? I think a full detailed report would be very important.

I think personally I would be willing to pay $50+

Humm I am wondering what would be contained in this full detailed report. I could give a list of the directories I submitted there website to along with the pagerank and mabey a few more details on the directories like amount of pages indexed...

Yet I could not provide them a report with the directories that accepted there website because some take a few weeks to review the submissions.

I figured I would make them setup a new email account like and that would give them confirmation of the directory submissions because nearly every directory dispatches an email after submission and then again if the website is accepted or rejected.

I always set up an email address from the domain that is dedicated to directory submissions only. All the confirmations can go there. And the inherent spam that comes with them.

As for your manual service. All the customer really needs would be a list of the URL's it was submitted to. So they can avoid submitting to the same directories again in the future.

Other info might be nice. Like PR of the page it's likely to land on. Maybe the URL path to the page the link might land on. Do take into account how the dir ranks them, alphabetical, pr, first come first serve, etc. and if the link is going to land on page 5 for that category then give the URL and PR for that page.

In other cases some customers might want you to keep track of other stuff.

    Have some package's maybe.

    1. Submissions with site URL list report $50
    2. Submissions with page PR and page URL report $65
    3. Custom Submissions (priced accordingly, just ask)

Now if your truly manual, then say you do it manually.

If you are semi-manual where you still navigate to the submit page then use some automated thingy to quickly fill the form in one click, then say its semi-manual. But please ensure you take the time to find the right category, also give the form a quick glance to check that the proper fields are filled with the right info (the thingy can make mistakes and put the wrong stuff in the wrong spot, depending on how that submit form is set up compared to most others).

When searching for the suggested category keep an eye out for possible better categories in those directories that divide and sub-divide their categories differently than most using the same downloaded phpld category list as everyone else.

Or other categories that are similar and submit it to the category that has less listings.

Update your list of dirs regularly. Drop the ones that switched to paid or recip only. And find new ones to fill the gaps.

Also drop the ones that are overfull. If most categories have 20 pages of listings and its not passing PR beyond 3 pages deep then cull it from your list.

I can get 500 submissions done for $40, or less. I would pay $60 if i knew real care was being taken to ensure each and every submission was quality. I should pay $100, but I'd rather not. When i can get it for $40, why would I? For $100 i can get 1000 and even after you account for a higher rejection rate i still get more than 500 links.

    ~EDIT~

Just did a search on semi-manual software. Ummm, SubmitEase looks real cool for only $60 for the pro version. hmmmm.....checks paypal balance

If those are some great 500 directories, I would say a fair price would be something around 30-40$

Thanks for all the input guys, you have given me a good amount of data I have compiled and come to a decision.

I am going to charge $40 to manually submit to 500 directories all with a main page pr above 4.

After submitting the website to the most appropriate category in each directory I will send the customer the list of directories I submitted there website to. The list will contain the directories pagerank, alexa rank, and perhaps the amount of pages indexed.

Does this sound fair to you guys?

The price is according to the quality of directories ur submitting. So go for best quality directories.

To start with u can just offer cheap rates and when u got enough clients just increase the price.

Thevirus, be sure to send me a message when you are starting this service. I have 6 sites that I *maybe* interested in if you would be willing to offer a bulk discount?

I would definately be interested in atleast one site though.

I prefer to do it on my own than using any services. Backlinks from directory aren't much worth so it's better to do it yourself

The time it would take me to do 500 submissions is worth far more than $40 or $50 to me. It's called opportunity cost. I can spend that time making far far more than $50 doing something else other than filling out submit pages.

Sounds like a fast way to get a bunch of cheap links. Are those the ones that are going to help your client in the long run? I think quality over quantity comes to mind here. Your link packages can also include links from blogs, forums, articles and paid directories.

Well I am just looking to make a few bucks now, but if this pans out and I get enough interest I plan to start a website and charge $50 or $60. But for now a bit of cash in my pocket can't hurt!

I always believe that first and foremost before you part with your money you should know where it is being spent.

Most directory submission sellers will not tell you who they will submit your website to and hey, why should they reveal their list of directories - could be their competition they are releasing it to.

If you tell me 500 directories and all are PR4 and you would get me link on the 1 category page pemanent then I would pay you easily $200 plus.

I would pay nothing. I no longer bother with directories.
