Mind blowing, ground shaking, bra ripping, top of the line design for your directory.

how much are you willing to spend?
how much branding means to you?

Realistically, how much are you willing to drop if you have the money.

For confidentiality reasons, this poll is not public and your vote will be anonymous.

It depends on the scale of the project.

If i had $100,000 to invest, i would spend up to 5% on design and mods etc.

    Otherwise a standard investment of around $5000 - $10,000 i would pay $300-$800 :)

recently I have a new design for my Web Directory I had to purchase the design separately and then code it separately from another coder. So it depends if the work come with coding. I will definitely go for the first option. But it also depends on the scale as Mikey said.
If I am generating over $10,000 yearly I wouldn't mind spending more than $500 per year for a new design and coding included.

I paid at least $200 for emporium-directory.com, mishre.com and directorypro.biz each for the templates and coding.

if having the money and needing a custom design i think i would pay up to $500 if the design is really unique, professional and fits the domain

For an awesome unique design with add ons such as wordpress or similar I would probably go as high as $800 :)

I would set a 300-500$ budget on the design and not a penny more than it. Moreover it all depends on the designers capabilities, I know some people filled with zero output, crap coding, time wasting, hence I wouldn't pay such people even 1$.

As I said it really depends on the designer and the person I am working with. :)

    Hi all,

I'll be looking for a design pretty soon. I could use some advice from those who have been through this before. Is it better to solicit proposals on this forum or is it better to run a contest? Also, does the cost differ depending upon the platform. Especially if I need some integration between a Wordpress Blog and directory. I am looking at either PHPLD or PHPLynx - both seem to be fine platforms, and I haven't decided on which one yet.

    Thanks for the advice,
    Rich

I prefer to pay up to $300 unless I had unlimited funds then I would go higher

I will not spend a single penny for any kind of design whether it is template, normal web or print media or even flash animation! :D because I love to design by myself:rolleyes:

I guess it depends on the designer and the work. IMO, most designs I have seen don't seem to be worth $300 even though they are nice and decent.

i have 3 sites i want custom design and i think about $400 to $500 each is reasonable if it includes changes and mod installs as needed
