How much would you like to pay for link building helping software?

    Hi,

I am developing this new link building software. It is not an automated spam tool but an advanced search engine scrapper and website analyzer.
Basically, it scrapes content from Search engines and analyzes each site and determines whether the site found is suitable for link building or not.
For example, it has a function that analyses only Wordpress blogs and determines accurately whether these blogs dofollow comments or not, moreover it detects the presence of the comment form and how many outbound links the page has. It has another function that analyses BlogEngine blogs which do pretty much the same like the wordpress blog analyzer. I am planning to add more analyzers for other kind of blog engines such as movable type, and other CMS systems.
It allows adding your custom proxies, many user agents and rotate them during each operation. It has a multithreaded engine which increases the analysis speed as it perform many operations at the same time.
The search scrapper function has options of safe search using a delay factor between searching pages, or can be as fast as possible using the multithreaded engine (without proxies you probably will be banned). It has multilanguage support and it will be available as standalone application for Microsoft Windows operating systems, MacOS X, and Linux Based systems.
I am planning to release it soon (probably tomorrow), however, I would really like to know how much a webmaster would pay for it. I am thinking of 50 dollars US for a life time license.

    What do you guys think?

As a minimum, I would suggest getting a sales page set up, listing the features, along with a video demonstrating how to use it. From there, throw out a few review copies to get some feedback to just some people who you think can give you solid feedback (they are familiar with the type of software, actively use software with similar functionality, etc. Then, once you get it polished, decide how much you want to try charging for it, based on competing program prices, the feedback you got, and whether or not you are going to be offering an affiliate program. You can always adjust your pricing later as it is a program that I assume you will be updating and won't go "out-of-style" in a short amount of time.

I would highly recommend going way beyond the above though and doing it the right way. Plan for a tiered release. It lets you make sure you have a sound product and helps get the word out, providing a more successful launch into the market. Set up a page that you really put some thought into for selling it, put together a support forum, and make a manual (and ideally some videos). I would suggest you push your release date and do it right. Programs like you are describing can go big and they can flop, most of that is decided by factors outside the program itself. Knowing how to release, properly support, and monetize have a big impact on how big it goes.

There is a lot more than I mentioned above that goes into a big product launch. Anyone with the money can hire someone to make what you are making. If they know what they are doing, they will sweep your product right out the industry except for the few sales you manage to make, and make more per sale while selling much higher volume. If you want to know a bit more about the types of things you should be looking at doing, and how to choose the ones that are right for you, feel free to send me a PM.

Edit: Don't get scared or look at this and start to feel overwhelmed. It really doesn't take that much time, and very little money, to do it right when you know what you are doing.

Honestly, I do not know anything about any free tool perfoming such task as analyzing a blog just to find out whether it follows or no follow comments. Still, as you both suggested I am going to launch a demo.

To be honest there are so many free tools on the net and since they are free a lot of webmasters these days usually have an eye to those free software for practical reasons. I guess you can succeed if you have a unique feature that others don't have, though you can always push your product to the market but always have something in it that is so unique. In my case, I'm not willing to pay for a software but I would rather research for free ones which can give me some comfort still without sacrificing the quality of my seo effort.
