    Hi :)

I have a page one ranking website and have been contacted by someone asking to advertise on my site, say I was to give them their own page with details and contact info, web site link etc. How much would you charge for a year, my site is extremely relevant to the service they offer.

    Thanks in advance

    Dee

It really it's up to you how much you want to charge. If you ask too much, you can always negotiate. As I understand, your site is PR1 - people don't pay too much for advertising on such site but perhaps you have a lot of traffic?

If they want to buy a link because of the pagerank, I would say that you should charge them $20-50/year (go with higher number and then negotiate if they think it's too much).

If it's because of relevant traffic, $0.2-$1 per thousand of impressions, depends also on your site niche.

It would depend on your niche and how much targeted traffic you get. If you have the stats to back you up then you can charge more.

For example lets say you have 100 people a day, and 10% of those people are "buyers". If their product or service is priced at 29.95 that is 299.50 a day.

That means rounded up they are looking at 9,000 a month. Any way you can do the math and plug in different numbers.

If it is too cheap then they may think your site isn't a good property to advertise on. And the same goes for being too expensive. You basically want to land on a price right between the two price points.

IMHO you should charge so they have a good ROI and you also make money as well. A win-win for both parties!

It depends on the traffic and effect you can bring to him. Then you can determine how much it should be.
Of course, the amount may be based on an approximate rate at the first time-determined by you.

    page one ranking for what?
there are a lot of phrases in this world.

Find a few sites that are similar to yours in niche and traffic and see what they would charge you.

    alexa rank?...

I wouldn't offer a year of advertising for a single price. Instead you should offer it per month, but again it's up to you. For a PR1 site - I personally would not spend more than $10/month ($120/year).

I personally would suggest a month by month advertising lease agreement. Start low and increase the price as your site gets more media buys + traffic. You could be well on your way to more things like this in the future!
