    Hello.

I am wondering if something with some kind of project development knowledge would know how much something like this would cost to produce.

I am just curious, (Im not actually looking for someone to make a copy I just want to know what sort of an investment would have likelky gone into the development of it)

    www.gametracker.com

Its a very impressive tracking tool for game servers by gameservers company.

How much would it have cost to get a company to produce something like that. I guess its developed in house, but even so, if it was outsourced.

    Thanks.

I love the site design over there, very impressive use of graphics.

It's also a great use of JavaScript and client side programming to
    enhance the user experience.

As for development costs, you're right, it was probably done in-house.
I'd say it would take several months to put together, so perhaps 10
to 20 thousand dollars in terms of time?

I browsed around a little. Is this a lot like gametiger.net? I remember a long time ago there used to be a site called CLHQ (something like that). It tracked the kills / death stats for players on almost every game server for Quake/Counter-strike/etc. Someone really needs to bring that back.

    Lol, your a comedian.

    400-600$.

The graphics designer would have probably cost that much just for the logo.

    Give them a little respect.

There is absolutely no way, that could ever be made for less then $15k in my opinion. Minimum.

i don't know too much about all that tracker stuff, but you're probably thinking in the right ballpark. a good front-end design person will run you thousands, and a good back-end person will run you thousands.

but, as you may already know, if you outsource to other countries (which I don't have the stomach for—just on account of communication), or if you find someone willing to invest a bit of time, you can get something running on the cheap. the most important things is building a team that really has the time to focus on a project and get it done...

They have a forum with only 65 members, and no visible revenue streams. If they spent $15k then I'd have to say they spent too much and probably should have saved some of that for marketing.

It's a nice site, but seriously, you can get that kind of work done for under 2k, probably far under. Especially with the niche, it's probably realistic to find a techie gamer or two who will contribute just because it's what they're into.
