How much would it cost to get on the first page of Google for "Male Enhancement"?

    Is it even possible?
What would you have to do?
Would it be worth the expense or would you use your resources to get traffic a different way?
Do anyone believe that they could personally do it?

I'm not sure if anyone can answer this without knowing the conversion rates, the expense/PPC...

Alot, in a word. I assume you mean male unit enhancement. PPC is your best option for that particular keyword. Although you will not make a profit. You need long tail keyphrases highly targeted to make a profit. SEO is a different story. Sorry I am out of time now.

You say that I will not be able to make a profit with PPC, so what would you recommend to me to promote my product? would affiliates know how to promote it for a profit?

Thanks for the help so far.

Not much of competition there though, but depends how hard those guys on the first page are trying, knowing that this niche has to be competitive :D i m sure all of them are trying hard
But still a new domain can be in the first page in 6 months time, from my experience (at least i can do it)

its going to be hard as hell especially since that keyword is usually related to high profit margin products. Pills are cheap to make and they sell for boat loads so anyone who is ranking in the top 10 and moving product will have the resources to make sure they stay in the top.

Yea, I wouldn't even try. No point. Go for long-tail.

    What do you mean long-tail?
Are you suggesting that I purchase a site like "www.make-your-wang-bigger.com" and have that forward directly to my site?
I currently have a Male enhancement site and product that I would like to drive as much traffic as possible to. Do you believe that that would be the best way?

Long-tail keywords are more targeted keywords. They do not rank high in terms of number of search queries per month, so they are relatively cheaper.

Like for example, male enhancement... you could go for buy male enhancement cheap (just an example)

Look at the suggested keywords in google keyword sandbox to see what long tail keywords are available for your site.

Going long tail is certainly a better option in the short term but there's no reason why you can't aim to show up for your main phrase too. It will take far longer to accomplish for sure. Just be prepared to stick with it consistently. Those first page rankings may take a few months or they may take a couple of years. You just have to commit yourself to putting in the effort month after month, year after year, in order to reach that ultimate goal.

Personally, I don't think it would be that hard. I would have throught it would be a tougher SERP, but it doesn't look bad at all.

Some good on page optimization, a couple hundred blog comment backlinks, and a few on way links from high quality, relevant pages with strong PR and few outbound links aught to do it.

This is an extremely difficult niche to do well in because of a variety of factors. I believe Google indiscriminately removes listings in this niche. It's also very difficult to find places where you are allowed to link to such topics (although Article Marketing Automation is an exception.)

It's harder than it appears. It's one of those things where it may not seem that difficult until you actually try it. There are so many black hat marketers in this niche that it seems Google doesn't treat it the same as family friendly niches.

Things that work in other niches don't seem to work in this one.
