There's people making five figures a month with ppc and people making 6 figures ..

The question is relatively useless since ppc is a monster to beat, and you need to be on a budget to start and gradually scale/grow your campaigns.

Right now I'm not using PPC for a campaign. I just using it to test.

But when I did have a campaing running I was just breaking even, and had a few profitable days as well.

I stopped because I was working on another project and wanted to focus on that 100%.

But most of the people start off using ppc are usuall going to start off in the negative, because of the high cpc (cost per click).
However eventually with some fine tuning your CPC will reduce and get lower (assuming other factors are all in line like: quality score, CTR [click through rate] right keywords, right audience, profit margin, age of campaign, etc.,)

The Idea is to keep running untill your CPC goes down enough so that you can turn a break even campaign into a winner. I mean you may get lucky and have a winning campaign right off the bat. But most of the time it's going to take a while.

Bottom line is if you don't have money to risk losing you'd probably want to wait to get stated with ppc.

And if you're really ready to get started, just make sure that you set your daily limit low enough to where you can afford it.

    Hope this helps...

PPC is advisable only for pros. One can lose all his money overnight on Adwords.
