    Hey there,

Just wanted to see if it can be any useful to start a paid directory for me.

so How much would you pay to get your site listed in a pr6 directory?
Your link will not be on the pr6 page of course, but some pr5-pr4 probably.

What are the regular fees and how much money you think can be made out of it?

    thanks

Money for pr ? Thats a lost concept. Better go for a directory which looks promising in terms of traffic.

Not really, high PR means more indexed pages if your site is huge, more frequent crawls, etc. It may not affect SERPs directly, but it's still important IMO

Don't worry Micheal, many person in this forum will discourage you regarding Pr. There are more than 10k directories and many dp forum members have more than one directory. Directory business is driven by Pr. people need backlinks that's why they come to directories. Directory owners never force any one to submit , peopple submit on their own.

i am willing to pay $10 or less for a listing for a PR 6 directory. Even it is a free directory, you can earn money from google adsense cause the more pages( also mean lots of site listed in your directory)your web directory have, the higher chance people can find your site from the search engine. I do submit my site to PR 6 site, like joeant, uncoverthenet, msn business directory, sevenseek that cost $40 and above. I still belive it is worth submitting to this Directory.

And also you can earn sponsor money from selling textlink to other webmaster that are related to your site, so i think it sure a make money business. but only how much you earn, maybe ten dollar, hundreds or thousand per month.

bb99, try to use text-link-ads site, there are many webmasters who trading/selling links with 6pr+ sites.

anyway try to build a user friendly, content saturated site and daily updated directory, then people will link back to you and as a result your PR will grow.

Recently I run a site(blogs directory). For the one month only google PR`ed it with 6PR.

Are we talking about getting listed on a PR6 page in a directory? If so I'd pay upto $50 if I was one of maybe max 6 links and it were high traffic and the exact category I was shooting for.

To be in a PR 6 Directory means nothing. You could be buried so deep the PR wouldn't matter, if indeed the motive was PR passing.

Yes yes everyone says PR doesn't really matter but what are the odds everyone whom says this has a PR meter in their browser as they're reading this....100%:D

    Hmmmmmm....

    Michael,

Get on the "recommended-paid-directories" type of lists and you have it made.

I don't think text-link-ads will be good enough. Infact it may be expensive if you are just looking for PR. This is because with web directories you normally pay a one time submission fee. With text-link-ads you pay a monthly fee.

Also, even if you find a web directory that has a PR6 or PR7, you have to make sure that your site is on a page that has PR6. If it does not then you will not benefit that much as the PR is calculated from the page that your site is listed on and not the PR from the homepage of the site that your site is listed on.

When I first started advertising I paid several $49 for my site to get submitted. Never again, that is all I can say. It was not worth the money that I paid. If I am lucky then I may get around 1 - 12 visitors a year from the sites that I paid for the submissions.
