I bought my laptop (HP G70-120EA) on the 1st of January 2009, and it has barely been used since then... If it has been used, it has only been for light stuff like MSN, Browsing the Internet, Typing Documents etc. It's got a lot more power than I actually need, so I'm wondering how much I could get for it now to maybe downsize to a netbook, or small laptop. CPU: 2 GHz Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5800 RAM: 3072 MB DDR2 Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GE Hard Drive: 160 GB SATA ROM: Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD±R/RW Double Layer Display: 17" WXGA+ High Definition BrightView Widescreen (1440 x 900) Extras: 5-1 card reader on the side, HDMI port, built in wireless, webcam on screen, and all the other standards that a laptop normally comes with. I bought a offical HP backpack for it too, which cost me about £20. The battery life is still great and don't think it has decreased since I got it ~ about 2 hours battery life from fully charged.
It retails at around £469 at Currys. However, I've seen other websites selling it for around £947 (inc. VAT) with some extras such as a nylon case and a mouse. Hope this helps,
Look at ebay and compare the prices of laptops with the same specs that just got sold (there's an option to see recently ended auctions).
Enlighten me, where could it be sold for $750? You do know that the CPU is a few years old? If I was going to spend $750, I'd rather get a new laptop with a core i5 / i7 in it. Bill
A person has the US version listed for $350. No bids as of now, http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-G70-460US-17-Notebook-PC-/290468171581?pt=Laptops_Nov05&hash=item43a1408f3d === The highest price I've seen sold is $615 http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-G70-460US-/170528418627?pt=Laptops_Nov05&hash=item27b4492b43 When is the best time to sell? Now because the prices always decrease on computers.
Those are decent specs, although I have a hard time seeing it sell for $700 or more. My guess would be around $300 - $400 since it's used. New laptops can be bought for $400 - $600 with 3-4GB of RAM, a 2.5GHZ or more dual core processor, decent motherboard and nice luxuries. I would say $300.
