Titles, H tags and general content are in my eyes 3 very important factors to focus on.

Title is not so much important, as anchor links are.

Title is more important than H's (1,2,3 etc) bold text, or text

Title is not so important related to URL name.

I don;t know what ratio of importance for titles, is between MSN Yahoo and Google.

I really think , but not sure, it's about the same.

What i know, is that site-wide anchor links , matter VERY much for MSN. MSN is the most receptive for anchor links , with the desired keyword.

Agreed! Your title is important. What's also important, I find anyway, is not to overdo the title in relation to what's on page as content. Stick to page topic when writing a title and try not to throw in some extra words in the hope it will give you a 'boost'.

As of May 21, MSN has left the bottom 1/3 of index pages in favor of Title Tag.

    My diary,

Jan 1, 2005: MSN/unstable SERP’s – cannot pinpoint specified area of content or tags for optimization. I will continue to watch.

March 20: Google loves BL's and top 1/3 of content
MSN loves BL's and bottom 1/3 of content (especially the Bold type)
Today makes 7 day's of stable SERP results for MSN.
Stay low with KW for MSN.

May 14: MSN tweaked their algorithm. It was so low at the bottom of the page it was picking up copy-write information - that’s low in the page. I think it is a great idea to. Forces SEO’s to create great content all the way through for the benefit of users. I pick the most meaningful paragraph at the bottom and then bold 2 of its sentences.

May 21: MSN is rewarding Title tag over 80% of my sites ( especially those using 5 words or less in title)

I'd personally recommend titles are very important indeed. Remember, you're not just appealing to search engine bots - the title is also the major hook for propsective searchers, and a good title can help on clickthroughs.
