I would like to ask about rough earnings of paid web directories. How much earns directory with PR 3, PR 4, ... , PR 8? What price of listing is the most effective and appropriate for specified PageRanks?
Repeatedly asked question, in this case mis-guided, a reference is not a significant metirx to value a directory, there are much much more relevant factors Management, editing, review approval, marketing, promotion et al to name a few of too many to list in this post
How much do sandwich shops earn? Will they make more if they have a bigger logo on the side of the shop?
Directories are not the mass money making scheme people make them out to be. Nowadays, so many people are making directories because they think they'll turn over a nice profit, that they have inevitably become so dense over the internet, that it's not likely you'll make it big enough to make tidy profits. Simply supply and demand. We're overrun with directories now.
I thought about general, very rough statistics. Could owners of directories tell for example their profit, PageRank of directory and number of unique visits per day (of course, URL of directory is anonym)?
@Romek: Some really good answers given in the thread. And I agree with them, not all PR3 directories will have same price and/or revenue. A lot of things would affect revenue of directory including how well the directory is being promoted. Editorial standards as well as quickness of reviews also bring repeat business for your directory.
It's like asking how much an average site on Internet earns a month. How could we possibly answer this question? What answer do you expect?
PR3 = $4,512.78 per year PR4 = $9,142.68 per year PR8 = $39,687.41 per year *Actual Earnings May Vary* LOL
