I always get lot of clicks with affiliate links but apparently never any conversions

Why is that? Is their any tracking software you can use to check what people do when they visit advertisers sites?

I promote one product with CJ, and it's not a common one. I am not going to tell you what it is or how I promote it. That would be shooting myself in the foot...

i am new to this whole affiliate marketing thingi. I was fed up with CJ at one time when it was eating my adsense share. I didnt promote CJ at all. Today, i logged into my CJ a/c and boomed i made 4 sales lol..i was surprised that i didnt do anything but people actually followed some of my old links and bought some stuff.

so now i Would be launching a new affiliate website soon but i am just not sure where to start. Can someone hold my hand and walk me through ?

I want to build a simple but effective affiliate website- any software recommend? Dont want to do much programming. a quick CMS type will do.
