I guess it depends, yes it does help, but only in the long run. Because if you have more than 1000 odd posts, you will automatically have 1000 odd backlinks for your site. These backlinks do not have that much importance as you get from a high pagerank site or blog. However they are still counted as backlinks and this might increase the total number of backlinks in your list
My experience is that you get "extra SEO love" for anchor texted links, where the anchor text is a relevant keyword phrase. Its even better if your anchor text is also embedded in the URL. This is my first post, so I can't include a real link, but here is an example:ANCHOR TEXT mine is New Online Business Videos However, your other point is extremely valid. You do not get all the extra SEO love unless your link appears somewhere that google considers to be in your area of business. So I would want to post in online places like this, plus any place that discusses starting a new business. However, this link showing up on a judo or highland games website would be treated as "noise" by google, and largely (but not completely) ignored.
If the signatur is used in a weak niche with a 3 Word Search Term the influence can be clearly seen on google
Abolutely. I think everyone would want their thread indexed. Even if it does not go great right now, but it can add up over time as others run across your indexed thread sometime down the road in the future.
I really don't know how good they are for SEO in any conclusive way. I know I wouldn't put time into getting them personally, but if it's boards you're already on then why not?
I am sad to say this, but right now my DP signature is my main source of traffic for my website. My site is still new, but I need to find other ways to promote it. Nonetheless DP signatures don't help with SEO because they are nofollow links.
DP Signature holds value. Its not by just the number of posts you make, but with the quality replies you give to the people here and also with the number of people you engage with. Work on that, it will fetch you good in long run for sure
helps some .. i think.. i thought you meant how much value do the links in the sig have.. i was going to say like an ocean full of value...
It is not much helpful in your seo work. Signature link on do follow forums are just like a pleasing breeze. It removes dust from your plant. As for me, I think it one essential activity in seo.
DP backlinks are GREAT, remember to post helpfull comments, and post threads that are beneficial to the community, as google will weigh it heavier, as most people will by chance search the web for needed answers, and bump into your thread post stating the answer to their problem, and vuala instant Weight to your Linkback~ hope that helps~
You are correct... it's not as much as how many posts, but WHERE you post. A link builder sig posting only in Copywriting will do less then if that member posted in Link Development. The reverse of course would also be true. Though quantity certainly has it's place... Link age has it's place as well... so don't change them up too often.
I call B.S. on this one. A jump for one forum post, no chance. Over time, there is a lot of value if you're posting thousands of times....but not in a single link!
Not completely true I'm afraid. If you are lucky your signature can have a huge amount of SEO value. I've started a lot of thread in other forums, the first page in some of those threads is PR3+. These signature links alone boost me to the first page of Google for my target keywords (and I recently found I can be indexed in just 1 day). My advice to maximise your signature luck: 1. Start good threads. 2. Try and post on the first page of a thread that could be high ranking.
