How much back-linking value does your DP signature hold?

I know it probably depends on how much you post and how long you've been posting for, but has anyone experienced significant results from only using their DP signature as a back-link?

I've never thought any signature links held much value, but they're good to have. Especially if you post a lot like w3bmaster mentioned.

It all depends on how many posts you have. But, remember, the more quality threads you make - that actual people talk on, will help.

It really depends on how much you post. The more you post (with QUALITY posts), the more juice you get.

I think it depends on weather the subject is related to your site... like why would you put a link to an ice cream factory in your sig on DP? It would serve little purpose! but a link to a search engine optimization company or something related to what DP is all about - probably would help!

I know the mantra that "every link helps" makes sense, but if you really need to post 2K times to have a significant impact on your site is that really worth it?

Does the variety of forum backlinks make a difference in their SEO weight? I mean for example if you have 2 posts from one forum or 1 post from 2 forums that all have the same anchor text backlink in them, will one have more benefit to rankings?

For SEO I don't think much, but for the site in my sig, I'm not really after SEO traffic. I absolutely get traffic though, and that's what it's about for me.

So by this do you mean that your not too bothered about people clicking though from the link on your signature, but rather it increases your page ranking for your anchor text keyword?

Nope, opposite. I don't really actively do SEO for my blog anyway though.

Ok thanks mate. In your opinion though do you think that the bank links from signatures carry any weight on their own for the purpose of increasing page rankings for the keyword anchor text used for the sig link?

You see most of my sig links are on forums that are not necessarily topic related so chances are I won't get any traffic from click through's instead I have them their to increase page ranking from link juice, is that worthwhile? as a lot of people say that sig links don't really do much for page ranking on keywords.

Sorry to be so questioning haha I can't help it as im putting a lot of work in right now and I want to to be worthwhile :)
