How much valuable a link that people are being used in signatures ?

1) Are the link that used in signature and threads valuable ?

2) How much it helps in link building and SERP ?

3) Does Google penalize if used much in a site ?

1.) Not much, but they do help in getting you indexed fast, especially in high traffic forums
2.) Doesn't have much link value, but they do count, and some of the profiles down here have PR.
3.) Signatures are part of your link building but they shouldn't be the only one.

 

Not much. Only value is that you might get some users to your site

 

They are valuable because you get a lot of direct traffic from them,a nd DP is a big authoratative site so having a link here is pretty good one to have.

 

qwestcommunications was right signature can bring direct traffic and count your sig as backlinks. It also help for faster indexing of your site.

 

their biggest pluses are direct traffic and quick SE indexing. They definitely shouldnt be the lynch pin of your marketing strategy.

 

Put it this way. If I was earning $10k per month I would be reinvesting $5k of that in buying high post sig links.

Signatures counts as a oneway link to your site. That's why it has a value in terms of linkbuilding.

@ Nightowl, how fast cannot be predicted accurately, but most people do get indexed in 1-2 days..

 

I don't seem to get much direct traffic from them, but the links do show in SE results.

 

I haven't used link signatures before, but it seems worthwhile to give it a try

I've been using forum signatures ever since I started with my website. Immediate results are that some people may click the link to my site and be interested in what my site has to offer. Over time forum posts will get archived and picked up by the search engines. Of the 3 Google links that show up with the link: operator for my site, one of them is a random post I made from another message board.

but I know of at least forum which specifically states that sig files will not help your link popularity because they use the nofollow tag on all links posted on that forum. Needless to say I didn't bother with that forum.

 

it counts though not much...still they help you improve your link popularity and for your site to gain more traffic...

 

signature links is a good backlink source. if your sites competition has 500 backlinks and lets say you have 5000 post here on dp then you have 4500 more backlinks... 5000 backlinks instantly. ( yahoo, msn) google only counts quality backlinks.
