How much traffic should a PageRank 3 site be getting?

I have a site called http://www.kimtdesigns.com, it is 11 months old and yet i can still only get about 30 unique visitors per day with about 100 - 150 page views. It also has a Pagerank of 3. I have no experience with HTML, SEO or website building at all. All that i have done is learned from DP and done exactly what everyone else is doing like Articles submissions, link exchanges, directory submission, myspace, craigslist and every other thing mentioned on here.

Why am i only getting limited traffic? How do these webmasters get 100's and 1000's of unique visitors everyday? Is there something that i am missing, something really simple that i do not know about yet? This is driving me crazy and i need to sort it out.

I know that it takes a lot of hard work and time to get the traffic but i thought that i would have had a bit more than 30 a day by now. What are your thoughts on this and how long did it take you to get a decent amount off traffic to your site?

target on any keyword and build backlinks!
Sure you'll get more traffic from Google.
Also concentrate on long tail keywords!

It takes time. But looking at the site - you really have to work hard to improve it. SEO takes time for me.

Build more relationships. Backlinks and "authority" flow from that.

    Hi KimT,

firstly congratulations on what you have achieved so far, but I would urge you to mentally seperate a high pagerank with traffic, they are not mutually exclusive - I have many very high traffic sites with no pagerank, and some very high pagerank sites with no traffic at all!

The PAGERANK is just an algorithmic based valuation of your websites based on age/incoming link weight/content/frequency of updates/relevancy of META tags/image tags and so on... its NOT going to get you thousands of visitors to your site.

If you want to start actually earning more off your site you need to sit down and plan the marketing of it the same way you would do with a physical shop. See if you can get links from other sites that are either in your local area, OR that cover your niche, that way you will get customers that come to your site that are good potential clients.

So in short, dont worry about your pagerank, when everything else is in place it will increase naturally!

You are seeing the reality of it. What were you expecting, anyway?

If they are doing thousands every day, it is because they are advertising and or doing word of mouth.

No offense, but come on, cousin, think. :)

Your PR won't have a direct effect on your traffic. Generally speaking, a higher PR site will have more traffic, since there would be more inbound links.

Yes, exactly. Keep the inbound links coming and your PR will rise in parallel with your traffic.

Traffic can be difficult to build, and yes it does take time. I would also try to focus on your sales conversion rates. If your goal is sales, try to add more reasons to keep visitors on your site. I'd consider adding a comments section so customers can leave positive feedback on an item. This will not only help to boost sales, but ad content to your site as well. Good luck.

Are all your articles keyword focused and SEOed or follow acceptable waord density. Something to consider. As someone else said PR is not mutually exclusive. I have marketed sites or landing pages with no PR that have achieved traffic or 100-200 hits within a day by submitting 2-5 well writtin articles. That is not fantastic but with a big ticket item that converts at 2-5% it is nice.

I have also had PR4 sites that I maybe wrote a few articles for and and put a few ads out on various sites not putting much though into that only get 5-20 visitors a day. Are you using a keyword tool to research b4 you write an article?

If you do find a method that works stick with it and look for other methods to add to your toolbox.
