How much traffic needed to make money with Adsense?

I run a couple of blogs, but I barely make any money at all... I have about 400 page views per day according to adsense.

How much traffic is needed before you really start to make some money (at least $10 per day)?

 

I think you'd need over 3000 visitors per day. Maybe 5000.
You really need a lot of traffic before you can quit your day job to survive on AdSense income.

It depends on your CTR and CPC too, traffic alone can not estimate the earning.
If you have good CTR and CPC such as CTR=10% and CPC=$2, then you need only 50 views to gain $10
However, if you are having a bad CTR and CPC such as CTR=0.1% and CPC=$0.10, then you need 10k views to gain only $10

 

lifeplayer described it well. Everything depends on the quality of the content of your site and their CPC. Also if you can organize your adsense blocks well in your site, you can hope to get improvement in CTR.

 

I heard that crap blogs and sites don't get much traffic these days

 

So what you need is some quality blogs. Would you guys mind posting your best blog here?

 

It really depends, some sites of which ive helped develop have run only 5k pageviews and they make $50 every week which was to my mind insane then other sites 2 million + pageviews a month and only $250 per month. :/ so it really does depend on the quality.

 

Even 1 visitor can make you money. As long as you have good CTR, you only mission is to get traffic and not to 'improve visitor quality'.

I have sites with this amount of traffic that are getting 1.5-5$ per day, it really depends on the cpc of your kw's (which you can control by targetting high cpc longtails related to your main keywords) and on your conversion rate (which you can optimize by changing ads placements etc.)
BTW, if this traffic is bought traffic, don't waste your time on it, it will probably not convert at all

The number of visitors is not as important as the number of clicks you get.

Condition 1: Lets say you have 10000 visitors but only 10 people click the ads.
Condition 2: Lets say you have 200 visitors but 20 people click the ads

Which will get you more dollars? Condition 2 will get you more money. The ads have to be placed in locations where your users can easily click them.

 

Visitor count is only a part of your income. Try to place your ads tricky (But dont disturb the content and dont force ppl to click). Adsense gives you several Ad formats and make use of them. Experiment new ways and you will find your own way.

For 10 $ a day your traffic has to be around 5000 a day. with 5000 unique visit in a single day you can get 10$ a day easily ......
