Generaly I only focus on Google, I do quite bad in all other search engines, although today I have thought more about working on other search engines as obviously some people use them. Google is the daddy though no matter what.
25% of traffic to my Harry Potter forum comes from Google Search Portals (different country Google sites). This is about 55 uniques a day from Google Search Engine. Other search engines send 15% traffic (combined).
I get almost all my traffic from Google. However, somebody once said (in regards to their site).... "I get most of my traffic from Google, but most of my conversions come from MSN" (or was it Yahoo?) If you're running a site based on selling items or subscriptions, then a good analytics software is necessary to tell you where you're getting the hard cash from. I'm running G analytics, but don't know how to tie it into the shopping cart. Anyone have any idea?
I have traffic from google and less from yahoo and msn. The nice thing is that I get more sales from Yahoo even if the traffic is somewhere around 30%.
MrStitch Regarding google analytics you can set a goal parameter so that google analytics will pick up the percentage visitors to that page in the site. I have new accounts goal set whenever the new_accounts_success page comes up and a sales goal whenever the checkout_confirmation page is reached. The terms that give you the most traffic are not the ones that get you the most conversions. Get data for 2-3 months and then start buying links geared towards the keywords that drive sales and new accounts. That is the strategy I have employed and have been able to decrease google adwords/yahoo search marketing spending by over 70% without any drop off in sales good luck
Well, it gave me most of my visitors, so it's a big plus. Yahoo and MSN are good also, but not as good as Google.
90% SE traffic is from G, the rest from Yahoo. Yahoo just started sending about 10-20 visitors per day but they are really converting. As soon as Yahoo started sending visitors I noticed incresead earnings
You are most likely sandboxed. I would be lost without google, say 90% of all trafffic comes from here, it seems to really like my site so no complaints there.
Today Google seems like they dropped all of a few of my sites...I am sure they'll be back tomorrow...but this is frustrating.
focus on google and if yahoo comes around then great, if not, well you will be optimized for the best search engine
One of my sites that ranks #1 in both Yahoo and Google for the same keyword phrase gets 75% traffic from Google and 25% from Yahoo. However during the first few weeks it was just the opposite. I guess Google took a minute to kick in.
