how much traffic does msn provide

We are #3 for a very competitive word w/ 500k overture and first 2 results are offtopic sites already but stats show that less than 10 times people searched for it and found our site. From this I conclude that msn provides less than 0.1 percent of traffic. Is this true?

 

I used to get a couple thousand hits from them a month with one of my gaming websites, but due to the new rankings I'm not sure how many I'll be getting.

 

I'd say its pretty close. I am top 10 on the vast majority of my keywords on MSN. Since google started hating me last week, and I have practically no good listings, I still get more hits from google than MSN. In fact, froogle brings more traffic than MSN does.

I dont think people use MSN to search for stuff, at least right now.

 

As it's the default in Windows, I do think a lot of people search.

IE has a browser search. Even if you type a legitimate site, sometimes IE redirects browser to a search page consisting of ads.

 

i have seen the same thing
there is virtually no traffic from MSN, we also have many listings in top 3 but no traffic.

What's interesting to me, is you can be #1 or first page in yahoo or msn, and still google sends more traffic, even if you are a few pages down. Probably not always, but that is my very limited experience.

i think view of people will change about msn and yahoo as well in the days to come. but not sure when

 

I don't think MSN search is 13 % of all. It must be 0.1 percent, and the rest may be IE/windows search.

 

Since the "messup" of Yahoo and the same top rankings for my keywords on Google and MSN I get about 15% of search traffic from MSN.

 

I have some sites that now get most of their traffic from MSN.

Having comparable SERPs the identical keyword produces 20 times more traffic with google. Even worse: Most MSN-traffic is caused by Overture sponsored links.

 

The answer for my sites is "SFA". Sweet F*** All.

msn? very very little...

 

I've found the same. When i get a high ranking in MSN traffic improves slightly. When i then get a high ranking for the same keyword on Google (as it always takes a while) the traffic goes through the roof.

 

I do not get any traffic at all from the new search engine and less than a 1/2 % from the old engine.

 

where do you get your traffic from then? links and directories?

 

ive had over 200 hits from msn this month, 150 of them for my top keywords.
