    Hello!

I need to know how much traffic a site gets.
Is there any way to get an approximative number?
    (it's not my site)

    Thanks

Do you want to see you Traffic stats of your site?

Then look into your logs or have a google analytics code on your site.. so you can track the visitors..

You can get a basic, free statistics tracker at statcounter.com. I use the $29/month paid version to track higher numbers, and I'm very happy with it.

As I mentioned earlier it is not MY site. So I can't add any tracking to it.
    Thank You.

    Um?

You can't see the traffic another website gets, if you want to know the traffic rates of a website before you advertise on their website, contact them and ask them - I'm sure they'd be happy to supply you with their details.

The only thing (that I am aware of) is Alexa, but that can be pretty inaccurate.

Well the only way of getting this info (competitive intelligence) is by using Alexa, Compete, Quantcast etc. But let me warn you, the data shared by them can be highly inaccurate and hence you cannot rely on them heavily.

I think I know another one as well...www.statbrain.com but the above statement applies for this tool as well.

    Hope this helps.

    Use either quantcast.com, alexa.com, compete.com or comScore.

The website should be listed within the tracking system of the site above.

It is depending on your site, you get more traffic, then you get more business.
