I see many people posting that to succeed with adSense, you need - a good website, with good content and a good niche - some traffic So how much traffic to do I actually need before things become real? I have a low number of impressions (less than 250), and I also have a low CTR. Should I work on getting more traffic, and that will raise my CTR? Or is my CTR low now?
Increasing traffic is not directly related to your CTR. You should definitely try to raise the traffic, make sure you have something that people want to see.
A website is like a store shop you own. Regardless of what you sell, where it is located, how wide the isles are...more traffic is always better. Especially for websites since since having too many people does not mean that they will be bumping into each other.
Well.....to a point....Exceeding bandwidth might be considered the same as ramming a shopping cart into someone's ankles
I think I can give some numbers here. I believe that a 3% CTR is good enough. This means that for every 100 pageviews. Assuming an average CPC (Cost per Click) is $0.05, you will then make $0.15 for that 3% CTR. So to make your first $1, you will need 667 pageviews. Therefore, you will need around 66,700 pageviews to make your first $100! But of course, most of your traffic should come search engines. This is where the real ad clickers are. This means you can add more original content and optimize your title and keywords. Increasing your back link is a big help to be popular in search engines. Doing this effectively can help increase your CTR. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the answer! I should rephrase my question: How much traffic do I need until I can look look at my CTR seriously? Right now it bounces around from 0% to 10% (usually on the lower end).
From my own experience, 50 - 100 hits/day (focussed visitors) is enough to make about $10/day. One of sites (an article directory getting unfocused visitors) is getting 500/days and earning $5/day from adsense. The math is not right? To get focussed visitors your website must have high quality and focussed contents.
It really depends on your current niche..because some niches will give you $10 or more for just a click..but some niches will only give few cents per a click..so if ur site don't have any decent high paying ads, then u ll need some huge traffic..
This is hard to tell for certain because there are many different variables involved. I believe what you're asking is what your sample size needs to be before your margin of error is low enough to trust the numbers. Typically a margin of error of less than 5% is acceptable for this type of measurement. Since the outcome is not life of death, an alpha level of .05 is acceptable (with 0.01 for life and death statistics and 0.10 for basic measurements). The hard part is determining the standard deviation since each page will be different. Because of this, it's prudent to assume a wide range of deviation. Also, without knowing your exact niche, etc, I'll assume a total population of 10,000. There's a specific formula to plug all these numbers in to determine your needed sample size. Based on these numbers, you'll need between 370-623 visitors before your CTR will stabilize. Of course, there's a lot of assumptions in place. You very well may need more visitors than that. Of course, the more visitors, the lower your margin of error will become.
CTR not related to traffic. The only relation is when your traffic getting higher, your CTR is more stable (mean the daily tolerent will be lesser). To improve your CTR, ads setting/format/placement and your content play the major role
